In collaboration with Himmah, Muallif is excited to announce an upcoming event featuring directors from Ta'leef Collective USA, a community co-founded by Imam Zaid Shakir, who was the personal Imam to Muhammad Ali - the late boxer. The event will focus on 'Faith in Action' and aims to inspire a spirit of service to others while exploring the intersection of faith and social action in our communal lives.
Highlights of the Evening:
- Insightful lectures from directors of Ta'leef Collective, USA.
- Open panel discussion with experienced community organisers.
- Networking opportunities with local stakeholders involved in social action.
Presenters:
- Representatives from Ta'leef Collective, including Dr. Ali Dia, Mike Swies, and Dr. Will Caldwell, will share their valuable experience in community service and education.
- Shaykh Abdal Aziz Fredricks will speak about the theological underpinnings of faith in action from an Islamic viewpoint.
- Muallif will present the intersectional opportunities and challenges faced by converts to Islam because of Islamophobia.
- Shoana Qureshi-Khan, CEO of Nottingham Counselling Service, will chair the event and speak about her therapeutic work with the refugee community, ensuring local expertise in our global conversation.
